Learner tip
Using descriptive language when you write is a good way of keeping your reader interested. This is also true in speaking, when you talk about what has happened to you, or tell a story.
Replace the bold adjectives with more decriptive words
Our journey started on Ответ
(an empty) railway platform. The temperature had dropped to minus 3 the night before and it was still Ответ
(very cold). I was Ответ
(very tired) after a Ответ
(bad) night’s sleep and I wasn’t looking forward to the trip. The station was Ответ
(very quiet) until the train arrived a few minutes later. The sun started to rise as we set off and I could see Ответ
(nice) stripes of red and orange across the sky. Suddenly, I could smell hot coffee. We had skipped breakfast and I realized I was Ответ
(very hungry). At that moment a man appeared selling coffee and Ответ
(big) pieces of sweet bread – it was Ответ
(very nice). After a few stops along the line, we could hear people talking and laughing. Moments later, our carriage was Ответ
(full of) local people going to market. They wore traditional clothes in Ответ
(nice) colours and they were very friendly. They told us Ответ
(interesting) stories and gave us advice about the next part of our trip. By the time we reached our stop, we had made lots of Ответ
(nice) new friends.
