This paper presents a transcript of an interview with Professor Valentin Fedorovich Pavlov about Viktor Pavlovich Lukachev, the rector of the Kuibyshev Aviation Institute from 1956 to 1988. In preparation for the interview, the author of this work relied on oral history methods. V.F. Pavlov, who personally knew and worked with V.P. Lukachev, shared a great deal about his interactions with the legendary rector, the peculiarities of his character, leadership style, and relationships with students and institute staff. This research significantly complements the source base on the biography of Viktor Pavlovich Lukachev and can be used as a source for works on the history of the Kuibyshev Aviation Institute.
